This last fall I went to another Beth Moore Simulcast. That was my 2nd one of her's and I do say I always walk away built up and encouraged. This last year as I was there the main verse she started and used throughout the day was:
Proverbs 31:25-26- She is clothed with strength and dignity, and she laughs without fear of the future. 26 She openeth her mouth with wisdom; And the law of kindness is on her tongue.
Now when Beth Moore started discussing this verse she cracked a joke about how we know women will open their mouths. It was a good chuckle! But a known fact is women speak on average 20,000 words a day compared to men with 7,000.
I do have to say that in my marriage my husband is more of the talker and in the above stat our numbers are probably reversed.
Beth Moore went on to discuss the 8 tastes of Kindness which I would love to share with you.
1. Kindness is not a weakness- Luke 6:35-36 and Proverbs 11:16
2. Kindness is no an action; its a disposition.
(you can fake nice but not kindness)
3. Kindness wears down when we do- Daniel 7:25
4. Kindness looks pain in the face- Job 6:28 and Titus 3:3-8
5. Kindess is a Savior-Eph 2:4-10
6. Kindness has a good memory-Psalm 106:7 and Hosea 11:4
7. Kindness craves an outlet- 2Samuel 9:1 and Acts 28:1-2
8. Kindness leaves a legacy.
I go back and reflect on this because it is something I want to live out. I want to be clothed in strength (not body but mind) and dignity with no fear of the future, and I want to open my mouth with wisdom and have the LAW of KINDNESS on it! As a wife and mother it is so fitting! In this Flanigan house I want to constantly examine myself to see if I am living in that way- trusting God to give me strength, wisdom, kindness, and live it by faith with no worries or fear!
I see a couple things too... 1. I can ask God for wisdom and strength but I think you can seek it but practice faith and kindness. Let the HOLY SPIRIT guide and direct and constantly be aware of these qualities in my every day conversations and living!
Would love to hear some of your thoughts on this. I think I might use those 2 verses has a headline on my blog! :)
