My Comfort Cross Review and Giveaway

"The wood is from the tree of life, those who embrace her; those who lay hold of her will be blessed."
Proverbs 3:18

I have the pleasure to review and do a giveaway with Comfort Crosses.  When I opened up the nice red velvet bag I was pleasantly surprised at the size of the cross.  I had pictured a much smaller cross but this was a nice good size.  It can easily be held and carried in a purse or bag without getting lost.

Immediately I started thinking about who I could bless with this beautiful cross.  There were so many faces that went through my head.  The cross is a nice gift for celebrations or a gift to cheer up and give someone hope.

Then my mind starting racing with ideas of fundraising.  Do you have a youth group looking to do a fundraiser?   What a need wait to get support while supporting other Christians in Bethlehem.  :)  They also do a great deal for fundraising, buy 50 crosses for $150 only $3 for each cross.  I think you could easily resell them for your fundraiser for twice that or more!  :)

Have you started to think about Christmas gifts or a special gift for a dedication, baptism, graduate, or any special occasion?  Comfort Cross make a perfect gift with such an amazing message to share but also bless the hands that made them in Bethlehem.

The process of making the comfort Cross has been passed down for many generations.  In recent years the people who hand make the Comfort Cross have had a decrease in sales due to the decrease in tourism and reduction of olive wood.  Purchasing a Comfort Cross by a local Christian in Bethlehem will support Christians in Bethlehem, the birth place of our Savior

There will be 2 blessed winners who will receive a Comfort Cross but there is even a $2 discount for you to purchase your own.  (who do you know that needs encouragement and a reminder of who and what Christ did for them)

Why does and Olive Tree Hold such significance?
The olive tree is probably the most significant plant mentioned in both the New and Old Testament.  First mentioned in Genesis as teh leaf brought by the dove to comfort Noah it was the tree Jesus prayed under before the last supper.  The olive tree also provided food, lamp oil, anointing oil, and building material during ancient times.
The olive tree is an evergreen which can grow for many years.  The tree admired by Hosea whose leaves have been a sign of abundance;glory and peace ares till used to crown victors in the Olympic Games.  The oil from the fruit used to anoint the sick.  The olive trees of Jerusalem are prune to remove the hard wood and open the tree so new growth can provide a bountiful crop of olives the next year.

Book Review: "God I feel Scared"

Kids have big feelings, but none of their feelings are too big for God. In this picture book from licensed counselor Michelle Nietert and Tama Fortner, young readers will explore what it means to feel scared and discover how to manage their emotions in a healthy way. Scared is a feeling that can be hard to face, but if we listen to it, we can learn things about ourselves. In  God, I Feel Scared , children will discover that it’s okay to be scared and that God is with us in all things, including fear. With simple, accessible text, scared becomes an emotion that kids don’t need to avoid and instead something they can use to better understand themselves and grow closer to God. The bright, emotive art by Nomar Perez will draw kids in, and a note in the back provides tips and techniques parents and caregivers can use to help young children process their feelings in a beneficial way.
