Lakeshore Bubble Pop Math Game

I allowed my daughter some fun games on the computer or tablet before but now it's time to start thinking about more educational games and fun ways to learn using the technology we have.  Thank you Lakeshore for providing me with a copy of the Bubble Pop Math game to conduct my review.  I was not paid for this review and all opinions are 100% mine.

Game Description ages 6+:
Students race to solve skill-building math problems in 4 different categories by popping bubbles that show the correct answers—before they splash into the pond! To play the excitement-filled game, kids choose a category & subskill from the menu…then pop the correct bubbles to build addition, subtraction, money & time skills! Kids earn points to progress through 8 levels of play, and with each level they unlock, the challenge increases—along with the fun! Best of all, the game lets you create & save a profile for every student in your class, so kids can stop & start whenever they want—and teachers can check kids’ skills & scores anytime! Software includes printable assessments & personalized reports. Compatible with Windows operating systems, as well as Mac OS X 10.6 and higher.

I received two copies of the Bubble Pop math game, one for ages 6+ and the other 9+.  As soon as I downloaded them my daughter was excited to play.  I got excited to start some addition with her and I grabbed our manipulative counting bears to help.  My daughter is 5 and the suggested age of 6 is right on.  Since the games have a timing mechanism the child needs to know how to already do addition, subtraction, time, and money.   I thought getting this age would be good since my daughter knows how to count and do basic addition, but the bubbles fall and the time goes quickly for my daughter to use counting bears.  So that was my mistake on thinking I should challenge my daughter because I think the challenge was way to hard!

I could tell how students would have fun and want to keep improving because it truly is a race, a race to get the right number before it disappears and to get more answers right before the time ends.

These two games are great games to practice the skills that children in those age groups need to master.  My favorite  aspect that is perfect for a parent or a teacher is the documentation to view the student progress.  What a great way to set goals for your child or student in your classroom and then to see the improvement over time.

Overall these computer math games will help any student practice math skills! Go order your Bubble Pop today!

"The Reading Game" Review and Giveaway

Description: The first book in  The Reading Game  learn-to-read series tells the story of a skunk without a stripe who is rejected by the other skunks but finds acceptance among some cats and becomes their defender.  It’s told in rhyme, is beautifully illustrated, and is 32 pages long.  It will be the first book the student reads, and there are five more to follow in this groundbreaking learn to read program. Each of The Reading Game's six stories is told using just thirty new words.  These are broken down into six sets of five words.  The student learns to read each set of five words by playing a simple word matching game.  Frequent exposure through play hard wires these words into long-term memory.  Rote learning is transformed into a fast-paced game with a winner every few seconds. After completing Skunk, Game 1, the student has learned five words (can, cat, is, me, not).  Playing Game 2 adds an additional five w...

Packing for your first ski trip

Pexels - CCO Licence So, you're gearing up for your first ski trip and the excitement is as thick as the snow you're about to conquer. But before you can show off those freshly learned pizza and French fry stops, you’ve got to pack.  Packing for a ski trip can feel like preparing for a chilly expedition to the North Pole, but fear not! With these nifty tips, you'll be ready to hit the slopes in style and comfort. 1. Layer Like a Lasagna Think of your ski outfit as a gourmet lasagna: each layer is crucial. Start with a moisture-wicking base layer (yes, that includes thermal underwear) to keep you dry and snug. Over that, layer a warm and breathable mid-layer—think fleece or a wool sweater that can handle the chill. Top it all off with a waterproof and windproof jacket and pants. Remember, it's all about layers that you can add or peel off because sweating while you ski is less fun than a snowball in the face. 2. Keep Those Fingers Cosy Cold hands can ruin a...
