Go Picnic Review and Giveaway

Company Facts
GoPicnic has revolutionized the concept of boxed meals, offering nutritionally balanced, shelf-stable, ready-to-eat boxed lunches and meal boxes that require no refrigeration, heating, or preparation. No bigger than a hardcover novel, GoPicnic boxed meals are easy to transport in a laptop bag, backpack, or handbag, and are meant to be enjoyed anywhere, anytime.

Each GoPicnic meal box is packed with palate-pleasing foods from premium brands. Plus, all of GoPicnic’s delicious foods are made with clean ingredients, which means they contain no trans fats, no high fructose corn syrup (HFCS), no added monosodium glutamate (MSG), and no artificial flavors or colors. GoPicnic’s high-quality ingredients are clearly labeled on the packaging of each box lunch, so even people with special diets, including all-natural, gluten-free, kosher, vegetarian, and vegan, can enjoy GoPicnic boxed lunches when they’re on the go.

GoPicnic History
Founder and CEO Julia Stamberger first launched GoPicnic in November 2006, serving up a shelf-stable meal box solution to the costly fresh food service available for purchase onboard major U.S. airlines. Stamberger’s ready-to-eat box lunch concept enabled airlines to offer quality, in-flight food options that reduced waste and required zero prep time. The airlines were also able to increase efficiency and improve customer satisfaction with GoPicnic boxed meals.

The success of the ready-to-eat boxed lunches and meals with onboard airline clients led the way for GoPicnic’s growth into new markets. In addition to airlines, GoPicnic has created meal boxes for hotels, tourism, corporate events, and college and camp food service programs. GoPicnic’s Care Packages debuted in May 2010, which allowed consumers to send flavorful food boxes to faraway family and friends. In January 2011, GoPicnic introduced eight new ready-to-eat boxed lunches for the retail market, which are available at nationwide grocery, specialty, and mass merchandise stores, as well as online.

My Review:
Thank you Go Picnic for sending me two boxes to review.  All opinions are 100% mine and I was not paid for this review.  One lucky winner will win two Go Picnic boxes by entering below.

The first thing I did was send one with my daughter to school for her lunch.  I was pleased to find that she enjoyed her applesauce, fruit snacks, pb n crackers.  She did bring home the fish crackers because she said they were spicy.   I tried them an loved them but I will admit they have so much more flavor then other brands so it probably seemed hot or spicy to her.  I ate every last one.
The next day I took the other box to my job for my lunch break.  When I opened it up I was excited to see my cookie was from Lucy's, a very familiar brand.  I thought the nut package was a bit small but I understand that if it was larger the calorie intake for the meal would increase significantly

While we were at Target my daughter spotted the Go Picnic meals and was absolutely excited to purchase them.  I was excited because it means I save time from packing her lunch.  The price at my local Target was very reasonable!

It was nice to sample the gluten free box and the all natural box.  It is always important to check the labels on the box to ensure you get exactly want you need or want.

"The Reading Game" Review and Giveaway

Description: The first book in  The Reading Game  learn-to-read series tells the story of a skunk without a stripe who is rejected by the other skunks but finds acceptance among some cats and becomes their defender.  It’s told in rhyme, is beautifully illustrated, and is 32 pages long.  It will be the first book the student reads, and there are five more to follow in this groundbreaking learn to read program. Each of The Reading Game's six stories is told using just thirty new words.  These are broken down into six sets of five words.  The student learns to read each set of five words by playing a simple word matching game.  Frequent exposure through play hard wires these words into long-term memory.  Rote learning is transformed into a fast-paced game with a winner every few seconds. After completing Skunk, Game 1, the student has learned five words (can, cat, is, me, not).  Playing Game 2 adds an additional five w...
