Mrs. Fields Mother's Day Giveaway

"We are born of love, love is our mother...."   That sums up in a nutshell why Mother's Day is such a special day.  I know that as every year passes, I am more grateful for my mother.  And unfortunately she isn't around these day for me to let her know.  I'm glad that while she was alive, I did some pretty great things for her on Mother's Day.  I feel like she knew how much I loved and appreciated her.
This year A GAL NEEDS...is excited to partner up with Mrs. Fields Cookies, along Vanessa from 2 Dorks In Love  and offer up the wonderful possibility of giving your mother a gift package full of those wonderful cookies, whose delightful aromas have been wafting through kitchens for over 35 years!
We are reviewing and also giving away The Mother's Day Delights Sampler, a delectable and veritable smorgasbord of the most delicious cookies you could ever imagine all in one place!    The package arrives with 36 assorted Nibblers® bite-sized cookies, 18 brownie bites, 4 hand-frosted cookies, 2.5 oz. vanilla taffy and 2.5 oz strawberry taffy and a "Happy Mother's Day" gift tag.

The cookies come individually wrapped so they maintain maximum freshness. Hint: Put them in the microwave for a few seconds and they taste like fresh home-baked cookies!
"I received this box and within 1 day everything was gone. I ate quite a few of the cookies so definitely had my share, but I had family over so everyone got to try the cookies and treats. It was definitely a hit! We loved all of them, although the brownies would have been better if they were heated, but they went too quickly even for that! The favorites were the hand-frosted sugar cookies! They were delicious! Thanks so much for the wonderful Mother's Day gift! It made my day!"  Helena, A GAL NEEDS...
Here is a quick video of my reaction to Mrs. Fields Cookies!

When my kids were small, I think about 2 & 6, we worked together and made necklaces for my grandmother for Mother's Day. It was special to me to see Grandma Great's face when the boys presented her with the gifts.

Last year we took my mother to a local park that has a small zoo attached to it. It is where she used to take me as a child and we saw a very old turtle that we had donated to the zoo there. We donated the turtle about 25 years ago.

Last year my son was finally at a point where he could afford to buy me a gift, so he gave me a really nice grill.

I think my 1st Mother's day was the most memorable! Last year my 4 little ones gave me charms for my Pandora bracelet that they started two years ago.

Last mother's day was my first Mother's Day as a mom and it was great because I just had my little guy and one of my best friends came to visit!

Of course my first mother's day was very special to me, but I'm very excited about this upcoming Mother's Day. My daughter is almost three now, so she has a better understanding of what Mother's Day is and she keeps talking about picking me flowers for Mother's Day. It makes my hear melt!

Last mother's day I wrote letters to my friends who are moms, telling them how much I admired their parenting.

"The Reading Game" Review and Giveaway

Description: The first book in  The Reading Game  learn-to-read series tells the story of a skunk without a stripe who is rejected by the other skunks but finds acceptance among some cats and becomes their defender.  It’s told in rhyme, is beautifully illustrated, and is 32 pages long.  It will be the first book the student reads, and there are five more to follow in this groundbreaking learn to read program. Each of The Reading Game's six stories is told using just thirty new words.  These are broken down into six sets of five words.  The student learns to read each set of five words by playing a simple word matching game.  Frequent exposure through play hard wires these words into long-term memory.  Rote learning is transformed into a fast-paced game with a winner every few seconds. After completing Skunk, Game 1, the student has learned five words (can, cat, is, me, not).  Playing Game 2 adds an additional five words (sad, she, stay, this, with). The s

Dry Idea: Deodorant Review and Giveaway

I know most of you know I was at kids camp last week and I think I mentioned the humidity and heat that we had that week!  I was daring as I only brought my new Dry Idea  deodorant  that I had never used prior.  I had no idea if it was going to keep me from smelling like B.O or if I was going to have sweaty pits. So how did the Dry Idea hold up to the hot and humid days at kids camp???  Arms raised high during worship in the morning and in the evening!  :)  I was dry and I did not stink!  :) WOOT WOOT!  I had the unscented brand and I usually do prefer a pretty scent but it worked and they do have scents which include powder fresh and cotton dry that I might try in the future.  :) The Dry Idea Roll-On is 24 hour protection, fast drying MicroCotton Formula, hypo allergenic, and contains Vitamin E.  :) Don't like roll on's??  They do offer Clear Gel and an Invisible Solid.  :) Dry Idea provided a free sample of their Advanced Dry roll-On so I could review them.  However,
