My Review:
A big thank-you to Zondervan for supplying these books free of charge to me in exchange for an honest review.   I was no paid for the review and all opinions are my own.

My daughter just started her first grade year so she is not quite ready to read these books on her own.   I can however make some adaptions and use them in different ways and different purposes.   The books are aligned to the common core at a second grade level.   I agree that these books are geared for the 3-5th graders.  The book still provides many pictures within the text so it will keep the attention of many readers for a longer period of time.

These books are helping me teach my kids more about each of these places because I do not have the luxury of spending thousands of dollars on a vacation... maybe one day!  The book gives you a great overview of the city but then also relates very well to the Bible.

This series would be a perfect series for any homeschooling family who wants to make sure they discuss the current city but also the biblical facts along with it.  The books are not too long and as an adult I learned quite a bit from each city and I bet you will too!

"The Reading Game" Review and Giveaway

Description: The first book in  The Reading Game  learn-to-read series tells the story of a skunk without a stripe who is rejected by the other skunks but finds acceptance among some cats and becomes their defender.  It’s told in rhyme, is beautifully illustrated, and is 32 pages long.  It will be the first book the student reads, and there are five more to follow in this groundbreaking learn to read program. Each of The Reading Game's six stories is told using just thirty new words.  These are broken down into six sets of five words.  The student learns to read each set of five words by playing a simple word matching game.  Frequent exposure through play hard wires these words into long-term memory.  Rote learning is transformed into a fast-paced game with a winner every few seconds. After completing Skunk, Game 1, the student has learned five words (can, cat, is, me, not).  Playing Game 2 adds an additional five w...
