Although Glenys Nellist lives in Michigan, USA, she was born and raised in a little village in northern England.
Her introduction to evangelism began as a child. She remembers standing on street corners, along with her seven siblings, as her father, a Methodist Local Preacher, sang hymns and loudly invited passers-by to their small village church.
Her introduction to writing began in Primary school where one day a week, she was one of the lucky few withdrawn from the classroom to sit in big, comfy armchairs in the teachers' lounge. There, in front of a roaring log fire, with pencil and paper on lap, Glenys would write.
Four decades later, her stories and poems began to appear in children's magazines, where her writing reflected a deep passion for bringing the Bible to life for young children.
When she is not writing, Glenys can usually be found playing with her three young grandsons, or paddling around in wooden boats, which her husband, David, is adept at building.

My Review:
My children and I have read the first two stories and are highly enjoying it. I strongly suggest this book to go along with your devo times with your family. My kids get so excited to lift the letter flap and read what is geared for them. The book is designed for the parent to personalize the letter and write their child/children in the Dear part of the letter. Each letter is so encouraging and helps children identify with a God full of love and adoration for his children. I truly think my children identify better with the story with these little letters because it takes the story and then personalizes it for them. For instance the first story is about Adam and Eve and the snake. We all know the story but in the letter it asks if they have done anything they should not have just like Adam and Eve. We all know kids have done something wrong and most likely even very recent to the day. The letter goes on to remind the children that when they say sorry God erases the wrong doing and only see's his love for his children. My 7 year old daughter had such a big beautiful (toothless- she lost her two middle teeth) smile because she is understanding GRACE!
This book has been a wonderful addition to our nighttime Bible reading sessions that leave my kids encouraged and feeling loved and adored by their Daddy God in Heaven. As the Christmas season approaches make sure you put this on your child, grandchild, god child, or any other child's Christmas list! :) I am excited to keep reading each night but I think my 3 and 6 year old are more excited!
Thanks Zondervan for supplying me a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. I was not paid for this review and all opinions are 100% mine. I was not paid for this review!
