My Review:
I loved this story!!! As soon as I started reading it my mind started thinking about how I could share this story in a Christmas program way. I was picturing my kids church kids holding up different cookies and telling the birth of Jesus with them... makes me excited for Christmas.... and hungry for cookies!
In this adorable story the author tells the history and purpose of the Christmas cookies... to share the birth of our Savior JESUS! The author writes that draws in emotions. The illustrator, Richard Cowdrey, has many pictures that help a person feel the emotions that the author writes about from missing his dad, to jealousy, to hope and joy while sharing the Christmas story.
My kids, 4 and 8 years old, enjoyed this story as well. They were asking to bake cookies when the saw the recipes on the last page. Unfortunately for them it was too close to bed time but since snow is falling it might be a great morning for it.
I recommend sharing this story with your family this Christmas! This book is from Zondervan and remember to save 30% using the coupon code below:
