2015 Merry Christmas

What games did you play on Christmas?   We played Blokus and Risk.   My kids actually did very well with Blokus and my son did play Risk with us and did really well... until he just kept going to war with everyone.

We kept our tradition and did Happy Birthday Jesus pancakes.   This year the pancakes were carrot cake pancakes and they were tasty.  Before you ask me what the recipe is... it was a cake box.   Yes, I used a carrot cake box mix to make the pancakes.   It worked great and it was super easy!

These two monkeys were still super excited for the Build a Olaf and a sled even though we have been getting rain and no snow.   It will be here soon we hope!

This crew enjoyed Christmas together.  We still have more Christmas gatherings to go to and will update more on those fun days too.

Family is so important and Jesus is the reason for the season.   What traditions do you have to keep Christ the center of Christmas?

"The Reading Game" Review and Giveaway

Description: The first book in  The Reading Game  learn-to-read series tells the story of a skunk without a stripe who is rejected by the other skunks but finds acceptance among some cats and becomes their defender.  It’s told in rhyme, is beautifully illustrated, and is 32 pages long.  It will be the first book the student reads, and there are five more to follow in this groundbreaking learn to read program. Each of The Reading Game's six stories is told using just thirty new words.  These are broken down into six sets of five words.  The student learns to read each set of five words by playing a simple word matching game.  Frequent exposure through play hard wires these words into long-term memory.  Rote learning is transformed into a fast-paced game with a winner every few seconds. After completing Skunk, Game 1, the student has learned five words (can, cat, is, me, not).  Playing Game 2 adds an additional five w...

Timeless Truth Bible - Blogger Review #timelesstruths #biblegram #bible #Christianbookstagram

About this Bible: The Christian faith is founded upon an unchanging and unceasing confession: that “Jesus Christ is Lord to the glory of God the Father” (Philippians 2:11). This is the confession upon which all our hope, and all our joy, rests. The  Timeless Truths Bible  will encourage you in this truth through the wisdom of those who came before us with: Devotional notes and commentary from trusted theologians and pastors from the second century up to the twentieth to stir your affections. Ancient creeds and confessions of the faith to grow your understanding of what we believe—and have always believed. Artwork made throughout the history of Christianity to deepen your worship of God. My Review: I have a full house often being a pastor and now that we have a bonus daughter with us she is the blessed one to receive this Bible.  She has been desiring a bible to take notes in so when she saw margins she was pretty excited.  Then with the leather she was more exci...
