Book Review- "Once Upon a Time Storybook Bible"

Product Description:
The Bible is not a fairy tale, but every great story happened “once upon a time.” The Once Upon a Time Storybook Bible highlights powerful and inspiring stories from the Bible, beautifully illustrated with fantastical artwork by Omar Aranda. Stories include; Ruth, Abigail, Esther, The Parable of the Lost Sheep, The Prodigal Son, Mary Magdalene, and many more. Each captivating story is told in a way that will get children excited about reading the tales of real heroes of the Bible.

My Review:
Thanks Zondervan for sending me a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.  I wasn't paid for this and all opinions expressed are 100% my own.

We have enjoyed the princess series and the illustrators pictures through those books.   This Bible does start every story as "Once upon a time" which can make others feel on edge because we know that the Bible is true and NOT a fairytale.  So for me, it kinda makes it hard but at the same time my kids are enjoying this bible.

We did enjoy the larger book style.  My son keeps asking for me to read out of the big bible because he is enjoying the detailed pictures.  He even sat down and paged through to look at all the pictures while my daughter read the titles to him.   My kids enjoyed each picture and the stories are still right on even with the added "once upon a time."

Overall, I think most families can and will enjoy this book as long as you remind them that the Bible is TRUTH and not a fairy tale! My kids understand that the writer was having fun with those words.

After completing Skunk, Game 1, the student has learned five words (can, cat, is, me, not).  Playing Game 2 adds an additional five w...

Book Review: "God I feel Scared"

Kids have big feelings, but none of their feelings are too big for God. In this picture book from licensed counselor Michelle Nietert and Tama Fortner, young readers will explore what it means to feel scared and discover how to manage their emotions in a healthy way. Scared is a feeling that can be hard to face, but if we listen to it, we can learn things about ourselves. In  God, I Feel Scared , children will discover that it’s okay to be scared and that God is with us in all things, including fear. With simple, accessible text, scared becomes an emotion that kids don’t need to avoid and instead something they can use to better understand themselves and grow closer to God. The bright, emotive art by Nomar Perez will draw kids in, and a note in the back provides tips and techniques parents and caregivers can use to help young children process their feelings in a beneficial way. God, I Feel Scared  teaches kids ages 4 to 8 how to: Identify the feeling of fear and recognize thin...
