Royal Tea- Pecan Pie

It is the fall season and with our church opening a tea shop in our small town I think it will be appropriate to do some taste testings and let you in on all the goodness... O' these teas, YUM!!   So we opened the online store yesterday www.royaltea.org
We do not have our doors open for business yet since we are still in the paperwork stages; and that takes longer than anticipated, so we will open with the online store right now.

So what is the mission of Royal Tea?   It is so exciting I just want to shout it out... we love people and want to do a better job at showing it.  Here is the actual mission:  "We partner with you to change the world! Or at least someones world! Funds raised through Royal-Tea go to feeding starving children, giving them educations and clothes; Rescuing Women from sex trafficking and giving them jobs and educations; Supporting missionary work locally and globally; and serving as a resource to local events and initiatives.
The Staff Volunteers! The staff at Royal Tea shop are volunteers! They believe in tea with a mission and put their own labor behind it! You can feel good about your purchase knowing you’re having a positive impact!"

Tea Tasting Time!
Tonight as I write this I am drinking a big cup of "Pecan Pie."  This Pecan Pie tea is a caffeine free tea so I can drink it for dessert in the evenings.  I make my tea without adding sugar or honey just straight up Royal Tea leaves and hot water.  I bought the 4 ounces of this tea and very happy with it.  The aroma as it was steeping was flooding my mind with Thanksgiving!  The smell was so delightful!  So with the first sips of pecan pie tea I immediately tasted some caramel!  The other flavor notes in this tea include nutty, buttery, and caramel.   For every 6 ounces of water you will need two tsp. of tea and steep it for 5-7 minutes.  The tea can be re-steeped a few times too! My daughter got the second steep, and now I have cold water in it for an overnight cold brewed steep for my morning! Waking up to tea that's already made is so exciting to me.

"The Reading Game" Review and Giveaway

Description: The first book in  The Reading Game  learn-to-read series tells the story of a skunk without a stripe who is rejected by the other skunks but finds acceptance among some cats and becomes their defender.  It’s told in rhyme, is beautifully illustrated, and is 32 pages long.  It will be the first book the student reads, and there are five more to follow in this groundbreaking learn to read program. Each of The Reading Game's six stories is told using just thirty new words.  These are broken down into six sets of five words.  The student learns to read each set of five words by playing a simple word matching game.  Frequent exposure through play hard wires these words into long-term memory.  Rote learning is transformed into a fast-paced game with a winner every few seconds. After completing Skunk, Game 1, the student has learned five words (can, cat, is, me, not).  Playing Game 2 adds an additional five w...

Book Review: "God I feel Scared"

Kids have big feelings, but none of their feelings are too big for God. In this picture book from licensed counselor Michelle Nietert and Tama Fortner, young readers will explore what it means to feel scared and discover how to manage their emotions in a healthy way. Scared is a feeling that can be hard to face, but if we listen to it, we can learn things about ourselves. In  God, I Feel Scared , children will discover that it’s okay to be scared and that God is with us in all things, including fear. With simple, accessible text, scared becomes an emotion that kids don’t need to avoid and instead something they can use to better understand themselves and grow closer to God. The bright, emotive art by Nomar Perez will draw kids in, and a note in the back provides tips and techniques parents and caregivers can use to help young children process their feelings in a beneficial way. God, I Feel Scared  teaches kids ages 4 to 8 how to: Identify the feeling of fear and recognize thin...
