The PencilGrip- Kwik Stix Review

MESS FREE PAINTING!!!!

A lot of you know that I teach special ed as well as children's church on Sundays.   I for years avoid paint at all costs because... yep the mess!   It was unavoidable with kids... even watercolors seemed to make a big wet mess!

A huge thank you to The Pencil Grip for sending me a set of the Kwik Stix to review.  I was not paid for this review and all opinions expressed are 100% my own.

About Kwik Stix:
Tired of the endless mess of painting? Fear not! Kwik Stix Tempera Paint sticks to take the mess out of painting while keeping all the fun! Simply uncap, twist and paint! Kwik Stix have a fast-drying formula that allows them to dry in 90 seconds while still leaving a paint-like finish! No cups, smocks, water or brushes required. Kwik Stix comes in assorted vibrant colors with coverage that won't crack. Great on poster paper, cardboard, wood, and canvas.

Our Review:
I feel as if we haven't done as much crafting lately so this was a nice jump back in.   The kids had a coloring page they got from kids church they did first.  The humble sheets were bright in color and nothing mixed!   There was no mess for me and the kids had no trace of paint on themselves!   THIS IS A HUGE VICTORY!   NO MESS=Happy mom!

My son also had to create a flag for his soccer camp.  You can see his Zimbabwe flag looks great using the Kwik Stix.

The dry time goes fast, my kids had no problems waiting for it to dry.   They had a lot of fun and have continued to use the Kwik Stix.  I am considering having some in my classroom.   It would be a great item to have for kids who have earned it!

The Pencil Grip has a metallic set and a classic set.  Each set contains 12 colors and retails on their site for $11.99.   I feel like this is a great deal!   When you think how fast you can go through tempera paint... or any for that matter.   My kids have done a few other projects and it appears that there is a lot left in the sticks.

Our only downfall is fine print work, It is really hard to work in tiny spaces and stay in lines unless you get an edge on the stick.

Make sure you visit The Pencil Grip website and check out all the neat things they offer... it is way more than pencil grips!  Although... I am pretty sure I need to order more of those for my classroom too!   I love finding great companies with awesome prices!

"The Reading Game" Review and Giveaway

Description: The first book in  The Reading Game  learn-to-read series tells the story of a skunk without a stripe who is rejected by the other skunks but finds acceptance among some cats and becomes their defender.  It’s told in rhyme, is beautifully illustrated, and is 32 pages long.  It will be the first book the student reads, and there are five more to follow in this groundbreaking learn to read program. Each of The Reading Game's six stories is told using just thirty new words.  These are broken down into six sets of five words.  The student learns to read each set of five words by playing a simple word matching game.  Frequent exposure through play hard wires these words into long-term memory.  Rote learning is transformed into a fast-paced game with a winner every few seconds. After completing Skunk, Game 1, the student has learned five words (can, cat, is, me, not).  Playing Game 2 adds an additional five words (sad, she, stay, this, with). The s

Dry Idea: Deodorant Review and Giveaway

I know most of you know I was at kids camp last week and I think I mentioned the humidity and heat that we had that week!  I was daring as I only brought my new Dry Idea  deodorant  that I had never used prior.  I had no idea if it was going to keep me from smelling like B.O or if I was going to have sweaty pits. So how did the Dry Idea hold up to the hot and humid days at kids camp???  Arms raised high during worship in the morning and in the evening!  :)  I was dry and I did not stink!  :) WOOT WOOT!  I had the unscented brand and I usually do prefer a pretty scent but it worked and they do have scents which include powder fresh and cotton dry that I might try in the future.  :) The Dry Idea Roll-On is 24 hour protection, fast drying MicroCotton Formula, hypo allergenic, and contains Vitamin E.  :) Don't like roll on's??  They do offer Clear Gel and an Invisible Solid.  :) Dry Idea provided a free sample of their Advanced Dry roll-On so I could review them.  However,
