Book Review: "Bible Gems to Remember" Illustrated Bible

About the book:

Scripture is filled with “gemstones”—concise statements of five words or less that hold great value, meaning, and power. Bible Gems to Remember Illustrated Bible, written by Robin Schmitt and illustrated by Kris Aro McLeod, takes children through 52 stories from the Bible, each featuring a powerful gem from Scripture to memorize.

God can accomplish amazing things with just a few words. Imagine what he could do in the heart of a child who memorizes and meditates on these short “gems” of wisdom from the Bible.

Bible Gems to Remember Illustrated Bible:
-Offers 52 stories from the Bible, one for each week of the year, enhanced with beautiful gemstone photos that encourage children to memorize Scripture
-Includes more related gems to ponder at the end of each Bible story above and beyond the featured gemstone verse
-Is creatively based on Scripture “gemstones” that are concise statements of five words or less that hold great value, meaning, and power
-Features a gorgeous cover

My Review:
My children and I are loving the easy memory verse for each story with some pretty pictures of gems on the page!  Each of the verses is so short we all cam memorize it on the spot as we recite it together a couple of times.
There are 52 Bible Stories in this children's picture bible.  So you can use this book one day a week for the 52 weeks in the year or like us just read it daily until you finish it.
My favorite feature of this bible is the push for memorizing.   I will admit I am not always very good at taking time to do so but with this they are super easy to do!  If you are like me you can agree that even the 5 words or less of memorize scripture can do mighty and amazing things in our lives!

A few Gems;
Job 19:25- My redeemer lives
Galatians 5:13 Serve one another
1 John 1:7 Walk in the light.
Matthew 13:43 The righteous will shine
Romans 10:9 Jesus is Lord
Psalm 121:5 The Lord watches over you

See easy and powerful!   :)

"The Reading Game" Review and Giveaway

Description: The first book in  The Reading Game  learn-to-read series tells the story of a skunk without a stripe who is rejected by the other skunks but finds acceptance among some cats and becomes their defender.  It’s told in rhyme, is beautifully illustrated, and is 32 pages long.  It will be the first book the student reads, and there are five more to follow in this groundbreaking learn to read program. Each of The Reading Game's six stories is told using just thirty new words.  These are broken down into six sets of five words.  The student learns to read each set of five words by playing a simple word matching game.  Frequent exposure through play hard wires these words into long-term memory.  Rote learning is transformed into a fast-paced game with a winner every few seconds. After completing Skunk, Game 1, the student has learned five words (can, cat, is, me, not).  Playing Game 2 adds an additional five w...

Book Review: "God I feel Scared"

Kids have big feelings, but none of their feelings are too big for God. In this picture book from licensed counselor Michelle Nietert and Tama Fortner, young readers will explore what it means to feel scared and discover how to manage their emotions in a healthy way. Scared is a feeling that can be hard to face, but if we listen to it, we can learn things about ourselves. In  God, I Feel Scared , children will discover that it’s okay to be scared and that God is with us in all things, including fear. With simple, accessible text, scared becomes an emotion that kids don’t need to avoid and instead something they can use to better understand themselves and grow closer to God. The bright, emotive art by Nomar Perez will draw kids in, and a note in the back provides tips and techniques parents and caregivers can use to help young children process their feelings in a beneficial way. God, I Feel Scared  teaches kids ages 4 to 8 how to: Identify the feeling of fear and recognize thin...
