One Big Heart: A Celebration of Being More Alike than Different

Linsey Davis, Emmy-winning correspondent for ABC News and author of The World Is Awake, brings us One Big Heart, A Celebration of Being More Alike than Different, a beautiful picture book that celebrates diversity as well as the things we all have in common.

And we all have things in common too: like sharing fun and laughter on the playground, a sense of curiosity, big feelings, and so many other things that show how we are all more alike than we are different.

Combining lyrical rhymes and Lucy Fleming’s whimsical art, this inspiring story of inclusion and connection is the perfect read-aloud for kids ages 4 – 8.

My Review:

The first thing that pops out and grabs my attention is the colors used by the illustrator, Lucy Fleming! I love bright colors and this book is full of bright colorful pages. I love the heatr of the author, Linsey Davis. She helps everyone understand we do have a lot in common no matter what! I think it is so important for our children to see how we love and accept anyone even with differences. The world is teaching everyone to be critical and compare instead of love and get to know. This book can provide great discussions and personal discussions about how to love people who may be different then you.

This book is a hard cover book! It is perfect for those lower elementary ages. It doesn't take long to read and all age groups can enjoy it.

I know most of you know I was at kids camp last week and I think I mentioned the humidity and heat that we had that week!
