"Loved & Cherished" 100 Devotions for Girls -Book Review

About the Book

Am I loved? Am I valuable? Am I smart? The questions can go on for as long as a girl’s imagination and self-image allow. A girl needs to know that she is enough because of God’s love.

So often, girls and women give in to the lies that how they look and how popular they are determines their worth. But as children of God, we can have the confidence that we are loved, protected, secure, whole, and valuable because God is our heavenly father.

Loved and Cherished equips girls ages 8–12 to:

  • Discover perfect, unconditional love in God, and that she doesn’t have to perform or be perfect to receive that love.
  • Know she has God’s protection, despite living in an often-scary world.
  • Let go of heartaches, fears, and failures, because she has the love she needs to face it.
  • Build a strong foundation of faith on the love who will never leave her so she can face the challenges of growing up.

With a beautifully decorated cover, ribbon marker, and lovely page illustrations, this book of devotions will make the perfect gift for any girl in your life who deserves to know she is cherished, treasured, valuable, and worthy.

MY REVIEW:

I am enjoying reading this devotional book with my daughter.  She is 13 and yes this book is more for 8-12 but she is enjoying it and it is still applicable to her as well.   This quick devotional only takes us about 5 minutes to complete.   We read it before we pray together as a family.   It has really helped guide our prayers as we prayed together at the end of the day.   I like that this devotional has a scripture tied to a brief teaching.   Then at the end it has a moment called "living cherished" and "talking to God."   Those sections really help speak hope and truth into anyone!   I like that this book is separated into three sections.   Section 1 is "I am loved" and everything in the daily tasks helps girls learn that they are loved by the creator of love.   Section 2  is "I am Cherished" and that helps girls understand that they are important and were made for a purpose.  The last section is "I am Secure"  and that points everything back to Jesus and our relationship with him and going deeper in understanding.

"The Reading Game" Review and Giveaway

Description: The first book in  The Reading Game  learn-to-read series tells the story of a skunk without a stripe who is rejected by the other skunks but finds acceptance among some cats and becomes their defender.  It’s told in rhyme, is beautifully illustrated, and is 32 pages long.  It will be the first book the student reads, and there are five more to follow in this groundbreaking learn to read program. Each of The Reading Game's six stories is told using just thirty new words.  These are broken down into six sets of five words.  The student learns to read each set of five words by playing a simple word matching game.  Frequent exposure through play hard wires these words into long-term memory.  Rote learning is transformed into a fast-paced game with a winner every few seconds. After completing Skunk, Game 1, the student has learned five words (can, cat, is, me, not).  Playing Game 2 adds an additional five w...

Packing for your first ski trip

Pexels - CCO Licence So, you're gearing up for your first ski trip and the excitement is as thick as the snow you're about to conquer. But before you can show off those freshly learned pizza and French fry stops, you’ve got to pack.  Packing for a ski trip can feel like preparing for a chilly expedition to the North Pole, but fear not! With these nifty tips, you'll be ready to hit the slopes in style and comfort. 1. Layer Like a Lasagna Think of your ski outfit as a gourmet lasagna: each layer is crucial. Start with a moisture-wicking base layer (yes, that includes thermal underwear) to keep you dry and snug. Over that, layer a warm and breathable mid-layer—think fleece or a wool sweater that can handle the chill. Top it all off with a waterproof and windproof jacket and pants. Remember, it's all about layers that you can add or peel off because sweating while you ski is less fun than a snowball in the face. 2. Keep Those Fingers Cosy Cold hands can ruin a...
