How to Make Much-Deserved Time for You

When you are part of a family, it’s easy to become swept up in weekend trips, doctor’s appointments, and the school project your child only told you about the night before. After a long week, finding some time to yourself is extremely important and much-deserved, so here are some tips on making sure you take time to yourself.

Join an Exercise Class

A great way to escape the routine of home for a short while is to join an exercise group. There are plenty of different types you can choose to attend, from something more relaxing, like yoga, to a high-intensity workout like power boxing. Exercise is great for both the body and the mind, so you won’t just be taking time away, you’ll also be improving your overall health. An added benefit of joining a group is that you’re likely to meet like-minded friends there as exercise classes are a great place to socialize. You’ll be keeping fit, meeting new people, and taking the essential time out of your home life.

Take Morning Walks

Getting into a routine of taking a lonely morning walk is the perfect way to reset yourself before the hustle and bustle of the day begins. Wake up slightly earlier than usual, put on some comfortable joggers, and greet the day before most people have arose. The fresh morning air will be sure to wake you, while the peace of the quiet walk will refresh your mind, leaving you all ready for the busy day ahead. At first, the walks may seem like a chore, especially when you have to leave your warm, cozy bed, but after a while, you will come to look forward to the quiet time away.

Purchase a Monthly Subscription Box

Time seems to pass more and more quickly as we get older, and the months can pass you by without notice until one day you look at the calendar and realize you’re three months behind. How did that happen? Did you make time for yourself? A brilliant way of ensuring you keep track of the months while also making sure you are taking time for you is to order a monthly or quarterly subscription box. This way, each one to three months, you will be greeted with a present just for you! If you’re an avid reader, consider headymix.co.uk, where they will send you relevant and diverse books according to the season. It’s a wonderful way of treating yourself to a lovely gift while also making sure you have time to yourself at the same time.

Schedule Your Weekly Slot

An important way of making sure you do have time for yourself is to schedule in a weekly slot for you and only you. For example, let everyone in your household know that between 6 pm and 7 pm on a Sunday that you shan’t be disturbed. Take a long bath, catch up on your favorite TV show, or just take a well-earned nap; it doesn’t matter what you do, it’s your time! Make sure you treat the slot to yourself as an absolute priority, and eventually, it will become second nature that that time is yours and yours only.

Taking time for yourself can sometimes seem impossible, but it is one of the most beneficial gifts you can give yourself. Take some time out from your busy schedule and focus on yourself now, and again, you won’t regret it.

"The Reading Game" Review and Giveaway

Description: The first book in  The Reading Game  learn-to-read series tells the story of a skunk without a stripe who is rejected by the other skunks but finds acceptance among some cats and becomes their defender.  It’s told in rhyme, is beautifully illustrated, and is 32 pages long.  It will be the first book the student reads, and there are five more to follow in this groundbreaking learn to read program. Each of The Reading Game's six stories is told using just thirty new words.  These are broken down into six sets of five words.  The student learns to read each set of five words by playing a simple word matching game.  Frequent exposure through play hard wires these words into long-term memory.  Rote learning is transformed into a fast-paced game with a winner every few seconds. After completing Skunk, Game 1, the student has learned five words (can, cat, is, me, not).  Playing Game 2 adds an additional five w...

Packing for your first ski trip

Pexels - CCO Licence So, you're gearing up for your first ski trip and the excitement is as thick as the snow you're about to conquer. But before you can show off those freshly learned pizza and French fry stops, you’ve got to pack.  Packing for a ski trip can feel like preparing for a chilly expedition to the North Pole, but fear not! With these nifty tips, you'll be ready to hit the slopes in style and comfort. 1. Layer Like a Lasagna Think of your ski outfit as a gourmet lasagna: each layer is crucial. Start with a moisture-wicking base layer (yes, that includes thermal underwear) to keep you dry and snug. Over that, layer a warm and breathable mid-layer—think fleece or a wool sweater that can handle the chill. Top it all off with a waterproof and windproof jacket and pants. Remember, it's all about layers that you can add or peel off because sweating while you ski is less fun than a snowball in the face. 2. Keep Those Fingers Cosy Cold hands can ruin a...
