Increasing Your Energy Levels As A Parent

If you’re a parent, experienced or new, you’re more than familiar with the lack of sleep and lethargy that comes with taking care of a little one. As our children develop and become more comfortable with routine, it’s not uncommon for them to struggle to keep consistent sleeping hours, which of course, they tend to notify us about.

Increasing your energy levels as a parent, then, might seem like a pipe dream, as there’s nothing better for feeling refreshed and capable than actually being able to sleep. This is why it’s heavily recommended for new parents to take naps where and when they can, such as when placing their own baby down for a nap (with a baby monitor plugged in so that they can attend to their needs if necessary).

But from there, there’s not much advice. We’re just expected to get over it, as the cost for daring to bring a child into the world in the first place. Or at least, this is how it can seem. But worry no longer, in this post we’ll discuss how you can increase and improve your energy levels as a parent going forward, even incrementally, so you’re afforded the comfort and focus you deserve:

Exercise Helps

Exercising can bring out the best in all of us, but the most important benefit that people speak of the least is that it can actually help improve our day-to-day energy. From being able to sleep more easily and deeply to feeling less tired by the stress of the day, it’s not hard to see why working out when we have time can help dissolve stress and improve our levels of alertness during the week. If you visit a gym like Fitness 19, you’ll be in the best place for that.

Calming Coffee Alternatives

New parents often rely on caffeine in order to wake up and feel fully present each day, and it’s hard not to totally understand why they’d want to do this. However, coffee, especially a lot of it, can leave us to crash pretty hard after the effects wear off. It can be worthwhile to enjoy smoother alternatives, like matcha or green tea leaf, so that you can feel comfortable with a more enjoyable up and down, totally removing the crash from the occasion.

Nature

Getting out in nature when you can, such as a walk in the park with your pram in tow, can make a major difference. Walking near rivers and streams has been proven to dissolve stress. In fact, studies show that those who live within half a mile to a major park tend to be less stressed on average, and so making an effort to visit one regularly and breathing the clean air can grant us energy and a clearer, more focused outlook.

With this advice, we’re certain you’ll be able to increase your energy levels, even as a parent. Just take it day by day.

"The Reading Game" Review and Giveaway

Description: The first book in  The Reading Game  learn-to-read series tells the story of a skunk without a stripe who is rejected by the other skunks but finds acceptance among some cats and becomes their defender.  It’s told in rhyme, is beautifully illustrated, and is 32 pages long.  It will be the first book the student reads, and there are five more to follow in this groundbreaking learn to read program. Each of The Reading Game's six stories is told using just thirty new words.  These are broken down into six sets of five words.  The student learns to read each set of five words by playing a simple word matching game.  Frequent exposure through play hard wires these words into long-term memory.  Rote learning is transformed into a fast-paced game with a winner every few seconds. After completing Skunk, Game 1, the student has learned five words (can, cat, is, me, not).  Playing Game 2 adds an additional five words (sad, she, stay, this, with). The s

Dry Idea: Deodorant Review and Giveaway

I know most of you know I was at kids camp last week and I think I mentioned the humidity and heat that we had that week!  I was daring as I only brought my new Dry Idea  deodorant  that I had never used prior.  I had no idea if it was going to keep me from smelling like B.O or if I was going to have sweaty pits. So how did the Dry Idea hold up to the hot and humid days at kids camp???  Arms raised high during worship in the morning and in the evening!  :)  I was dry and I did not stink!  :) WOOT WOOT!  I had the unscented brand and I usually do prefer a pretty scent but it worked and they do have scents which include powder fresh and cotton dry that I might try in the future.  :) The Dry Idea Roll-On is 24 hour protection, fast drying MicroCotton Formula, hypo allergenic, and contains Vitamin E.  :) Don't like roll on's??  They do offer Clear Gel and an Invisible Solid.  :) Dry Idea provided a free sample of their Advanced Dry roll-On so I could review them.  However,
