Lifeway Women's Bible Review #lifewaywomen #lifewaywomensbible #readyourbible

Can anyone empathize with me on my feelings here...
In the above picture you can see the yellow (marigold) new Bible and the dirty well loved blue one on top.   I knew over the last several weeks that it was about time to start thinking about getting a new Bible.  I have a lot of wear to the blue one and I was ready to look at different translations.

When my new Lifeway Women's Bible arrived I loved the bright marigold cover and was excited to dig in.   Then I was hit with mixed emotions.  My other blue bible is like my BFF and I felt so conflicted.  I would open the new one and felt lost looking for different scriptures.  In my blue Bible I know it so well and have notes and highlights all over it.

So anyone relate to this?   There should be a word to describe this condition- New Bible Confusion!?

So a few days later I have been able to dig in and find several features I really like.   I will admit I am using this new Bible more during our family devotional time but my morning time with the Lord I am still using my Blue Bible.   I honestly don't know if or when I will be able to make the 100% change to the new one.

First feature I like are the character profiles.  I love reviewing the person and making sure I understand those things before I start reading.  I also like that this section has some questions to make you think and simmer on some thoughts.    It is a great resource.
Next, I like the introduction to chapter section.  I really enjoy the timeline section as I do enjoy thinking about the sequence of events as I read.  Then they also have key verses which I think is a neat feature if you want to set a goal for memorization of scripture those ones might be a good option to get started.

Another thing I want to make sure I shout out is I LOVE THE MARIGOLD color!   This color is screaming pick me up!!  I love it!

One more interesting detail I thought was neat was that the books of the bible was written sideways.   I noticed right away as I was skimming to find where I wanted to go I was think well this is easier that they placed the words sideways!   What a simple yet effective little change that I enjoyed!

With all the good things there are still a couple other things to note,
1. I ripped a page right away as I was moving the book marker ribbon.  Not a huge rip just a little one but made me notice the difference of page thickness from my other one.

2. I don't know if this is a good or bad thought but this Bible is much bigger then my other one.   I think I like the bigger size but more time will tell.

One more really great detail!  I love when Bibles have little extra's hidden in it and the picture below is one of those moments.  There are great little application section of info that are little surprises all over the Bible.

"The Reading Game" Review and Giveaway

Description: The first book in  The Reading Game  learn-to-read series tells the story of a skunk without a stripe who is rejected by the other skunks but finds acceptance among some cats and becomes their defender.  It’s told in rhyme, is beautifully illustrated, and is 32 pages long.  It will be the first book the student reads, and there are five more to follow in this groundbreaking learn to read program. Each of The Reading Game's six stories is told using just thirty new words.  These are broken down into six sets of five words.  The student learns to read each set of five words by playing a simple word matching game.  Frequent exposure through play hard wires these words into long-term memory.  Rote learning is transformed into a fast-paced game with a winner every few seconds. After completing Skunk, Game 1, the student has learned five words (can, cat, is, me, not).  Playing Game 2 adds an additional five w...

Packing for your first ski trip

Pexels - CCO Licence So, you're gearing up for your first ski trip and the excitement is as thick as the snow you're about to conquer. But before you can show off those freshly learned pizza and French fry stops, you’ve got to pack.  Packing for a ski trip can feel like preparing for a chilly expedition to the North Pole, but fear not! With these nifty tips, you'll be ready to hit the slopes in style and comfort. 1. Layer Like a Lasagna Think of your ski outfit as a gourmet lasagna: each layer is crucial. Start with a moisture-wicking base layer (yes, that includes thermal underwear) to keep you dry and snug. Over that, layer a warm and breathable mid-layer—think fleece or a wool sweater that can handle the chill. Top it all off with a waterproof and windproof jacket and pants. Remember, it's all about layers that you can add or peel off because sweating while you ski is less fun than a snowball in the face. 2. Keep Those Fingers Cosy Cold hands can ruin a...
