5 Tips To Avoid Weekend Stress For Busy Moms

Weekends are supposed to be your recovery period after a stressful and physically draining week. Unfortunately, modern weekends are super packed with even more stressful activities for most moms. From attending various outdoor events to taking care of several responsibilities at home, finding time to relax and recover can be very difficult. Before you know it, the weekend is spent, you’ve had little to no rest, and it’s time to face another stressful week ahead feeling drained. This vicious cycle can and should stop. Here are some tips to make your weekends more rejuvenating and stress-free.

  1. Decide what a restful weekend looks like for you

Sit back and imagine what your perfect weekend should look like. Does it involve spending hours in your bed without disturbance, or is it a mix of productivity and rest? Do you want to head off for a weekend escape away from home? Now, start planning how to make it happen. Of course, you might be unable to pull off the perfect weekend you want, but you can create something close to it.

  1. Schedule a “me time” or “couple time”

Start planning your “me time” as early as possible if you want to spend resting time alone during your weekend. That means you may have to delegate some duties, say no to some requests, and turn down some invitations. That might disappoint a few people, but it’s worth it if it’s important for your mental health and recovery. Next, inform those you’ll delegate to beforehand about their responsibilities, including the time.

So, what do you do during your time alone? You can take advantage of the best ebook torrent sites to read new books if you love reading. You can also catch up on your best shows or grab hours of sleep. If you want to spend time alone with your partner, plan your “couple time” and what activities to enjoy as early as possible.

  1. Close your workstation

Once your working week draws to a close, resist the urge to check your email. If you work from home, close down your workstation for the weekend. Every week should have a special time dedicated to yourself, and you can only get that during weekends. That means you might need to work extra hard during the week to avoid carrying work over to the weekend. This way, you can ‘close shop’ and take a needful break. Closing your workstation also means turning off your work laptop, putting it away, and putting work files and documents out of sight.

  1. Find creative ways to keep your kids busy

Don’t get it wrong; no one is suggesting not spending time with your kids. But you’ve probably had no rest all week, swinging between work and caring for your kids after work. Handling parenting responsibilities all weekend will hardly get you any rest. Sometimes, idle kids will want to be around you because they have nothing else to do, not because they need anything in particular. So, find creative ways to keep them busy or occupied while you rest. For example, you can give them limited screen time during the day or sign them up for weekend music lessons.

    5. Don't forget to Rest/ Abide in the Lord

Getting the best rest for me usually means I have a humble heart and seek the Lord for him to fill me. I don't want to have things that are meaningless try to fill me so if I fully empty out before the Lord and ask him to fill me out I know I am ready for the next week. If you are new to trusting the Lord reach out and I will try to give you some tips on where to start! Be blessed, open your Bible, pray, praise and rest in him! He desires to spend time with you!

Packing for your first ski trip

But before you can show off those freshly learned pizza and French fry stops, you’ve got to pack.  Packing for a ski trip can feel like preparing for a chilly expedition to the North Pole, but fear not! With these nifty tips, you'll be ready to hit the slopes in style and comfort. 1. Layer Like a Lasagna Think of your ski outfit as a gourmet lasagna: each layer is crucial. Start with a moisture-wicking base layer (yes, that includes thermal underwear) to keep you dry and snug. Over that, layer a warm and breathable mid-layer—think fleece or a wool sweater that can handle the chill. Top it all off with a waterproof and windproof jacket and pants. Remember, it's all about layers that you can add or peel off because sweating while you ski is less fun than a snowball in the face. 2. Keep Those Fingers Cosy Cold hands can ruin a...
